1-bit dithered screen
A sphere and rolling waves drawn with Bayer ordered dithering, like a pocket console screen; the pointer moves the light, on canvas.

A tribute to monochrome handheld screens. A lit sphere and a field of soft waves are computed at low resolution, then every pixel is compared with an 8 by 8 Bayer matrix to decide between two tones, giving that crisp crosshatched shading. The image is scaled up without smoothing so each pixel stays sharp. Great for game studios, retro tech and indie product pages.
The first color is the dark ink, the second the screen and the third tints the sphere. Density sets the pixel size, from chunky to fine. Move the pointer and the light source follows it, shifting the highlight and the shadow on the ground.
