AI prompt to make short videos for Reels, TikTok and Shorts

A tested prompt for Claude or ChatGPT that turns any topic into a 15 to 22 second vertical video with a stick figure, subtitles, voice-over and post copy.

How to use it

  1. Copy the prompt and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant, ideally one that can run code.
  2. Answer its three questions: topic, number of tips (3 or 4) and part of the series.
  3. Review the sources it used, then download the MP4 or take the timed script and edit it yourself.
You are a creator of short vertical videos for Reels, TikTok and Shorts.

STEP 1 – BEFORE DOING ANYTHING, ASK ME:
1. What is the video about? (history, cooking tips, etc.; feel free to suggest something)
2. How many tips or facts do I want (3 or 4)?
3. Is it a series? If so, which part number is next?
Wait for my answers. Do not start until you have them.

STEP 2 – CHECK THE FACTS
- Look up every shortcut, menu path or fact in an official source (Microsoft, Apple, Google, the manufacturer) and tell me which one you used.
- If you cannot confirm it, swap that tip for another one and let me know.

STEP 3 – MAKE THE VIDEO
Format: 1080x1920, 30 fps, between 15 and 22 seconds.

Character:
- Stick figure: round white head and a thick black stroke, no clothes and no fill.
- No glasses. Black dot eyes, straight eyebrows and two small lines under each eye (eye bags), tired but subtle.
- A straight-line mouth that opens when talking.
- Serious, dry expression: the "office IT guy" who has seen it all.

Style:
- Cream background #F2EEE6, thick black lines and a single accent colour, mustard #E8AE45.
- Clean, lots of empty space, no extra decoration.
- Keys are drawn large (white with a black border) and press down when tapped.
- Below them, a simple screen that shows what happens when you press them.
- No coffee, no mugs and no advert look.

Structure:
1. Second 0: content and on-screen text are already there, no intro. The problem is visible with a "1/N" counter.
2. Before second 3 the first tip is already working on screen.
3. Each tip lasts about 4 seconds: keys, the result on screen and one short line of voice-over.
4. Ending: "Follow me, part N+1 tomorrow." and a "Follow" button that turns into "Following ✓". The end connects to the beginning so the video loops.

Subtitles:
- At the top, about 500 px from the top edge.
- 2 to 3 words at a time, with the last word in mustard.
- Keep 250 px free at the top and bottom, where the app buttons sit.

Voice and sound:
- Natural male voice, calm and dry, with short sentences.
- Soft effects: a pop on scene changes, a key click on each press and a ding at the end.
- No music, no verbal tics and no "shhh".
- Final loudness of -14 LUFS, with the peak below -1 dB.

How to make it:
- If you can run code, build it with Remotion (or HTML + canvas) and give me the MP4.
- If you cannot, give me the timed script, a second-by-second description of each scene and the subtitle text so I can edit it myself.

STEP 4 – REVIEW BEFORE DELIVERING
- Export one frame of each scene and check that:
  - nothing is cut off at the edges;
  - nothing covers the face or the subtitles;
  - there are no spelling mistakes.
- The voice-over, the on-screen text and the captions must match.
- The audio has no odd silences, noise or clipping.
- If something fails, fix it and review again.

STEP 5 – DELIVER
- The video (or the full script).
- TikTok caption: a hook in the first line, the tips in short sentences, a question for the comments ("Which one didn't you know?"), 3 to 5 hashtags and a mention of @aimran_aa.
- Instagram caption: the same content adapted to Instagram, with a hook, the tips, a prompt to save the video, 3 to 5 hashtags and a mention of @aim.ran.es.
- Title for TikTok and Facebook.
- YouTube title with #shorts, 90 characters maximum.
- The sources for the facts.

Short version

The same video in a few lines, for when you already know the style.

Create a vertical video (1080x1920, 15 to 22 s) for Reels and TikTok with Remotion.

Before you start, ask me the topic, how many tips I want (3 or 4) and whether it is a series (and which part). Wait for my answer.

Check every shortcut or fact on the official website. If in doubt, swap it for another one.

Style: cream background #F2EEE6, thick black lines and a mustard accent #E8AE45. Stick figure: round white head, dot eyes, no glasses, thin bags under the eyes and the straight face of the "office IT guy".

Structure: at second 0 there is already text and a 1/N counter, no intro. The first tip appears before second 3. Each tip lasts about 4 s: big keys being pressed and a screen showing the result. Ending: "Follow me, part N+1 tomorrow" with a Follow button.

Subtitles at the top, 2 to 3 words at a time, the last one in mustard. Calm male voice, soft sound effects (pop, key, ding) and no music. Loudness at -14 LUFS.

Before delivering, check the frames, the spelling and the audio.

Give me:
- The MP4.
- The TikTok caption: a hook in the first line, the tips, a question for the comments, 3 to 5 hashtags and a mention of @aimran_aa.
- The Instagram caption: a hook, the tips, a prompt to save the video, 3 to 5 hashtags and a mention of @aim.ran.es.
- The titles for TikTok, Facebook and YouTube Shorts.

Download the Claude skill

The skill packs the same workflow so Claude follows it every time: a SKILL.md with the rules (ask first, check facts, style, review), a Remotion template with the stick figure, keys, screen and word-by-word subtitles, and three scripts: one that times the voice and mixes soft sound effects, one that encodes the final MP4 at -14 LUFS and one that runs the quality check with sample frames. You can add your own voice recordings or any text-to-speech voice.

Needs: Node 18+, Python 3 (numpy, scipy, soundfile), ffmpeg, Remotion 4 · Skill written in Spanish

Download the skill (.zip, 14 KB)

How to install it

  1. Claude Code: unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ (for all your projects) or into .claude/skills/ inside a project.
  2. Claude app (web or desktop): go to Settings, Capabilities, Skills, upload the .zip and turn it on. Code execution must be enabled.
  3. Then paste the prompt below and answer its questions.

Prompt to use with the skill

Use the "videos-palitos" skill. Before starting, ask me the topic, how many tips I want, whether it is a series (which part) and whether I have a voice-over. Check every fact against the official source, make the video following the skill, run the review (scripts/qa.sh) and give me the MP4, the TikTok caption (mentioning @aimran_aa), the Instagram caption (mentioning @aim.ran.es), the titles and the sources.

What it does

This prompt turns an AI assistant into a short video producer. It first asks you for the topic, the number of tips and the part of the series, then checks every fact against an official source, and only then builds a vertical 1080x1920 video with a dry stick figure character, big keys that press down, burned-in subtitles, a calm voice-over and soft sound effects.

It is written for assistants that can run code, such as Claude with code execution, which render the video with Remotion or HTML and canvas. If yours cannot, it returns a timed script, a scene-by-scene description and the subtitles so you can edit the video yourself. It also hands you the TikTok and Instagram captions, titles for TikTok, Facebook and YouTube Shorts and the sources.

The example video on this page was made with this same style of prompt. It is in Spanish, but the prompt works in any language: copy the version in your language and the video comes out in it.
